Ramblings

I have set a goal of 124 books to read this year. I have read 5 so far towards that book. I am reading Vampires of Soldier’s Cove by Jessica Macintyre, The Fine Line by Tracee Ford, Breeding Cycle by T.A. Grey, and Seductively Seduced by Mimi Tulane.
As soon as I finish reading a book I review it on Amazon and Goodreads. The reviews are supposed to be posted on my blog, but I know that they are slow sometimes. I only state that because I know people who look for those posts here. I do ask some of the authors if I can post the review as well as the book cover on my blog, as well as the link to where you can buy the book, so please look for those as well. I am going to be posting them weekly on here.

So in my crazy pain filled state at work the other day I signed up for the Shamrock 5k shuffle on March 15. Yep that means getting out there and running more often now and that also means that I will begging Mother Nature to please let the weather that day to be very nice!!! I have started training again for the Cellcom Green Bay Half Marathon which is May 18. That is the first of four races that I will be doing this year. I will be doing the Warrior Dash August 2 in Johnson Creek. As well as the Fox Cities Full Marathon September 21. I am still looking for one more race a 10k so that I will have ran a 5k, 10k, half and full marathon in one year. That is my goal for this year. I have also started a beginner Spartan training program to kick me in butt and get me back to where I want to be.

Update on my virtual walking – swimming – running – biking
*Please remember that my walking – swimming – running – biking is – VIRTUAL – walk – swim – run – bike. This is a visual tool to keep me motivated while working out.*

The pictures below is a screen shots of my virtual walk. One is how far I have walked so far and the other one is the overall picture. I have been keeping track for 33 weeks now. Last week I walked 29.05 miles and I ran 11.09 miles for a total of 40.14 miles. My total walking/running for the virtual walk is 1,473.82 miles so far. That means I still have 2,280.06 miles to go until I get to Stonehenge.

This is how far I have walked so far.

In January, I wrote 29,092 words. I knew that February was a smaller month so it would be a little harder to try and reach or pass that number. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw my total word count for February 29,361 words.

Had a wonderful weekend!

I had a wonderful weekend at Capricon writing, making new friends and meeting Sherrilyn Kenyon. It was a great honor to listen to her storytelling, to get my copy of Dark Bites autographed and to get a picture of her and standing together. My daughter and her best friend said that they had a great time as well at Capricon. We did have some issues with getting lost in downtown Chicago and ending up underground, but hey we made it out and we learned that Chicago has an underground. LMAO!! Overall I say it was a great experience.

Check out this wonderful author!

I am promoting the book Through the Oracle’s Mist by the wonderful and talented Aedan Byrnes. Please click here for my review.
http://www.amazon.com/Through-Oracles-Mist-Vengelys-Series/dp/1935970186/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386171121&sr=8-1&keywords=aedan+byrnes

Blurb: In the blackest night, with the moon and stars to guide him, she would always be there waiting… Cyrenna thought she died the day she watched Tynan and his brothers jump through the banishment portal in an act of solidarity with Rigor. Little did she know, it would be the first of many deaths she would experience in her quest to claim his heart. She would surrender not only her immortal soul, but a mortal one repeatedly. Through a deal with the great Oracle, she has multiple mortal lifetimes to change the direction of her future and have a chance with Tynan. Her journey spans the ages from the GenPei War in Japan and the Silk Road west, to Cromwell, the Three Kingdoms and modern times, bringing her one step closer to forever until she makes a misstep. Then, the burden falls to Tynan. The only thing that is absolute is her fervent hope that he will come, but there’s one big problem. Through it all, he doesn’t so much as know her name.

About the author: There is no simple description for Aedan Byrnes. Obesessive, compulsive, reclusive, dreamer, outdoorsman and wordsmith would be among the list if one were started. The displaced Gael lives in the upper Midwest with family between jaunts wherever the road takes him. A frequent traveler, he is as likely to be found rock climbing or spelunking as sitting fireside dreaming or aimlessly floating away.
A lifelong lover of words and writing, he claims a diverse reading appetite and his writing reflects the myriad influences. A self-proclaimed ‘reader’s writer’, he looks for the emotional and the sensory in word combinations, not just the visceral comprehension of phrases in the stories he crafts and his love of all things literary shines through.

Bitter cold temps and snow.

I am so sick and tired of this bitter cold and snow. I need to move someplace warm, or at least move to a home deep in the mountains with a fireplace so that I could curl up next to it and read and be warm. I know that I will not get to full-fill that dream for several years. So I guess I am stuck in this freezing cold crap we call winter in the Midwest.

I have started training again for the Cellcom Green Bay Half Marathon which is May 18. That is the first of four races that I will be doing this year. Where has the time gone??

I cannot believe that it has been almost two months since I have posted anything on my blog. It seems like it was only at the most two weeks ago. It’s time to climb back into my desk and make sure that I get all of my work done and stop forgetting things like my blog and my website.

So what has been happening in the past two months besides all the holiday stuff??

I have been working on The Sleeping Huntress as well as the complete rewrite of Lucian’s Angel since somehow deleted every single copy of it that I had. Thanks to some wonderful friends I was able to recover two different versions of it. Now to make marry the two versions together to make it flow nicely.

I have 3 goals that I have set for myself for January 1 to March 31. 1) Write no less then 500 words a day. 2) Exercise at least 30 minutes a day. 3) Mediate. I have added write and post a new blog post every Monday.

I have also been trying to teach my 15 year old daughter how to drive. She turns 16 next month and she cannot wait to start driving on her own.

I have also started training again for the Cellcom Green Bay Half Marathon which is May 18. That is the first of four races that I will be doing this year. I will be doing the Warrior Dash August 2 in Johnson Creek. As well as the Fox Cities Full Marathon September 21. Wonderful new cover!

I was asked to spread the word for about the new cover and release for this wonderful author!!! Please take a moment and check out. I am defiantly putting this book on my TBR!!!

A new cover for the the re-release of Brianna Hawthornes Fantasy…

Between Darkness and Light

Shi’ahn and her brother William find themselves transported into a realm beyond anything they could have imagined. Where they had once been powerful individuals, they are now almost inconsequential – at first. Soon though, they discover something monumental, and everything begins to change. Reality is not what it had seemed. As Shi’ahn and her brother follow where events are leading them, it becomes evident that both are destined for greater things. Shi’ahn does have one advantage that is exceedingly rare – she can hear and manipulate the song of the Universe.

As Shi’ahn and William embark upon their new journey they must survive intrigue, danger, and their growing relationship with the foundations of the Universe itself.

This is the first book in the Universe Cycle.

Brianna Hawthorne has been a tree farm laborer, a choir director, a restaurant worker, a telemarketer (She lasted one day), a transportation planner, a small business computer support worker, a printing specialist, computer help desk technician, a firewall and server administrator, computer security manager, an emergency preparedness coordinator, and now, finally, an author. It’s been one heck of a ride…

But the stresses of her profession and all the political. stuff it entailed eventually drove her to write. After many more years and frustrations, she ran away to the mountains where, aside from trips to the Island that inspired the creation of Shiral, she wishes to remain until the end of her days. Before the responsibilities of parenthood overtook her, she loved to play role-playing games and being a weekend historian in the Society for Creative Anachronism. Now she concentrates on providing the healthiest home environment for her family as possible. She enjoys growing her own organic foods and herbs, and listening to a wide variety of music.

Last week I slowed down…

I barely walked, ran or wrote last week. Between my daughter’s swim meet that did not go too well, her homecoming week and last minute change of mind on her dress, my computer crashing on me and then me getting sick I pretty much just did what I had to to get through each day.

*Please remember that my walking/swimming/running/biking is – VIRTUAL – walk/swim/run/bike. This is a visual tool to keep me motivated while working out.*

I can not believe that I have been keeping track for 10 weeks now!!

The picture below is a screen shot of my virtual walk. Last week I walked 30.17 miles and I ran 4.18 miles. My total walking/running for the virtual walk is 493.27 miles so far. That means I still have 3,346.53 miles to go until I get to Stonehenge.

If I keep doing about 45 combined miles a week, I should make finish my virtual walk by March of 2015.

My reward for getting there in 2 years is a poster of Stonehenge to go in front of my desk at home.

If I make it there in under 2 years, then my reward is a poster as well as a model like the one below the screen shot of the virtual walk. For this week’s blog I did a screenshot that shows how far I have walked/ran, but I also zoomed out so that I can see how far I have left to go, the blue star is my virtual destination of Stonehenge.

Is it really the middle of September?

In case you have not heard yet I posted this on my Facebook Author page.

*grabs the megaphone and stands on the desk*
YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE!!
I have been signed by a new press specializing in erotica.
That means that Lucian’s Angel will not be coming out this Friday because I will be publishing it with them. I know that this is last minute and I am sorry for that. I want to thank you all for your support and patience.
*jumps off the desk and gets back to work*

As soon as the new release date is set in stone I will let everyone know.

My days are filled with work and writing, my Tuesday nights are filled with swim meets for my daughter and as well as First Lego League for my son. The rest of my nights I am trying to write more, run more and try and make sure the kids get their home work done. I can not believe that it is the middle of September already. Where has this year gone???
